Only a weak 4G signal is available at Sampari Paradise Homestay.  Expect to be offline while at the homestay.

Electricity is supplied by generator and is available from sunset to around midnight. If you’re willing to pay for the extra fuel required, then the generator can electricity can be provided at other times.

Very little English is spoken at Sampari Paradise: If you have no Bahasa Indonesia, then taking an offline translation app or phrasebook would be best.

The nearest village is Yenyar, which is about a ten minute boat ride away. Be sure to stock up with anything you consider essential, because local villages only have very basic supplies available.

Safe rubbish disposal is unavailable on any of the Raja Ampat islands. To avoid contributing to the trashing of paradise, please do take all the inorganic waste you create away with you when you leave.

Activities

Off-grid snorkeling, bird watching and beach relaxation.

Be sure to bring snorkelling gear! Pulau Rambau’s reefs are rich and healthy. Good snorkelling is available off the beach at Sampari Paradise Homestay. Dugongs are occasional visitors.

Snorkelling trips to nearby Pulau Dayan and reefs further afieldcan be provided on request.

The village of Marandan Weser/Yenyar is nearby, and, as one of the last villages in the islands where all the houses are tradtionally constructed, it’s well worth a visit.

Pulau Rambau’s forests are filled with birdlife, including the mound building megapode known locally as the maleo.
