EcoXplorer Profile
EcoXplorer is a ship granted by CI and TNC, which in 2020 was brought to the Bira, South Sulawesi from Sorong. Before being granted, this ship was a nature conservation patrol ship previously named Inbekwan, which was then donated so that it could continue the goal of nature conservation in Papua and Maluku with a new name, EcoXplorer.
The ship’s overhaul was carried out for 1 year and 7 months, and start operating again in May 2022.
The ship was renovated using wooden materials by the local people of Bira, South Sulawesi. By rebuilding the Phinisi-shaped ship, which is the original heritage of the Bugis tribe, with the aim of continuing to introduce the heritage of Eastern Indonesia to the outside community.
